Asian Games Gold Medalist Vikas Yadav Honoured

Chandigarh, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Haryana Rao Dan Singh today honoured Mr Vikas Yadav who had won gold medal in boxing in Asian Games held in China recently, at a function organized at village Nandgaon.
While speaking on the occasion, Rao Dan Singh said that Haryana government has implemented a new sportspolicy in the state to develop the state as the sports hub. He said that sportspersons were rewarded not only with cash prizes but had also been recruited at  high posts.
He said that sports stadia were being set up in the rural areas of the state so as to strengthen the sports infrastructure and to provide more opportunities to the budding players. He said that Haryana has great potential in the field of sports. The government has provided the infrastructure and the support but the real credit of winning laurels at the international level goes to the players, he further added.
Mr. Rao Dan Singh honoured Mr Vikas Yadav with a cheque of Rs 2.5 lakh and a memento.
MLA, Mr Narender Yadav also spoke on the occasion. Senior officers of district administration were also present on the occasion.
