Pakistan withdraw football team from Asian game

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has stopped its football team from taking part in the upcoming 16th Asian Games 2010 to be played in Guangzhou, China this November.

Sources in government told The Sports Encounter that government has barred its football team to take part in the Asian Games 2010. Pakistan football team had a reasonable performance in the previous edition of the Asian Games played in 2006 at Doha.

The government’s decision to prevent the football team to take part in the Asian Games 2010 is not only a shocking decision but it will also hurt the growth of football sports in the country.

The decision has shocked many stake holders and Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is seeking the government’s help to get the permission to send its team for the all-important Games.
