Viswanathan Anand drops off from Asian Games event

Viswanathan Anand the famous chess champion will not be seen at the Asian Games in China during the special term as the player has some prior commitments to realize instead of his participation at the Asian Games.
This news came from official sources who informed regarding this on the 29th of October.
Koneru Humpy the top player from the woman’s side will also be not present at the China games.
The squad from India will be the group of players that participated in the last month Olympiad.
While Anand was nowhere to be seen in the last months Olympiad as well but Koneru Humpy bagged twin gold medals in Doha including a team event.
Both Anand and Koneru Humpy have informed the All India Chess Federation about their non presence at the games that will be held in November between the 12th of the month till the 27th.
Anand was approached for the Asian Games by the All India Chess Federation secretary. But Anand sent back his response that he will not be present during the events.
Confirming to this news Bharat Singh Chauhan the president of Delhi Chess Association said that the list of players in the squad will not have Anand as a part of the chess championship.
Chauhan manages the squad of 10 members under him. The Asian games are a grand event and in the chess play medals will be given out for various categories including rapid events for two players. Anand’s non presence at the games will be a negative pointer for India.
