Deputy Premier Sean Chen was waiting for Yang at Taoyuan International Airport outside Taipei when she arrived at about 1100 GMT.
"Thank you all, sincere thanks," said a visibly moved Yang, who was greeted by a crowd of several hundred fans, including an ethnic Tibetan.
Yang and her team-mates will later meet Premier Wu Den-yih in the capital, the United Evening News reported.
