Sample tasting for Main Media Centre cafeteria

After sample tasting for the main cafeteria of the Athletes’ Village last month, the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) held a sample tasting event for the cafeteria of the Main Media Centre in the Asian Games Town on Tuesday (July 27).
The self-service cafeteria is jointly operated by a Chinese catering enterprise and an international one and serves East Asian, Southeast Asian, South Asian, Middle Eastern and European foods. The menu offers different salads, meat dishes, vegetarian dishes, staple foods, Chinese and Western desserts, breads, fruits and drinks every day on a five-day basis.
Compared with the main cafeteria of the Athletes’ Village, the Main Media Centre cafeteria features more Cantonese foods so that journalists from around the globe can “taste” the unique Lingnan culture of Guangdong Province.

In Games time, an independent coffeehouse and Western fast food zone will be set up in the cafeteria and the delivery service of fast food will be available 24 hours a day.
A self-service meal costs 50 yuan (about 7.36 US dollars).
Local officials, media representatives and catering experts took part in the sample tasting event.
