MK Kaushik, the Indian women's hockey coach, resigned yesterday and vowed never to coach any women's team in the future.
The sexual allegations, he said, had hurt him a lot.
His friend and colleague Mir Ranjan Negi who has worked under him as the Indian women's team's goalkeeping coach, offered no comment on the issue.
"I cannot say anything right now. Kaushik is a good friend and the matter is with the committee. Truth will prevail. I was with him in 1998 Asian Games and 2003 Afro-Asian Games, but I saw nothing suspicious," Negi told MiD DAY.
When asked if, after all that has happened, he would take up the job of chief coach of the women's team, he said, "Why not? Why should I worry? This is a crucial time for Indian women's hockey with the forthcoming Commonwealth Games and Asian Games. If given the opportunity, I will accept it as a privilege."
