Guangzhou promotes Asian Games in Bangkok

The GuangZhou Municipal Government and Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) held a joint promotion conference for the 16th Asian Games in Thai capital Bangkok on Monday (July 19), kicking off a series of celebrations for the 100-day countdown to the Games on August 4.
Wan Qingliang, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, Mayor of Guangzhou and Vice President of GAGOC, presented a souvenir of the Guangzhou 2010 Mascots 5 Yang to Sanan Kachornprasart, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand.

Government officials and entrepreneurs representing the two countries were among about 300 attendants at the promotion conference which attracted reporters from both China and Thailand.
Bangkok has hosted four Asian Games – in 1966, 1970, 1978 and 1998.
