Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee holds 13th executive meeting

On Tuesday, July 27, 2010, the 2014 Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee (IAGOC) held the 13th Executive Committee meeting, chaired by Incheon’s newly elected mayor, Mr. Young-gil Song, at the Video Conference Hall of Incheon Metropolitan City.

This was the first Executive Committee meeting chaired by Mayor Song and deliberations concerned revisions to the supplementary budget. There were also presentations on the IAGOC’s progress in preparing for the 2014 Asian Games. The Chairman of the Executive Committee, Mayor Young-gil Song, 12 Executive Committee members, and one auditor were in attendance.

The IAGOC proposed increases to the budget to fund the growing operational costs of the organization, information technology development, the Games flag handover ceremony in Guangzhou, and reserve budgeting totaling approximately 2.4 billion Korean won.

In the opening address, Chairman Young-gil, Song approved the budget requests of the IAGOC, stating his support and belief in hosting a truly enjoyable and memorable 17th Asian Games to be experienced and shared with all 45 members of the OCA and to promote the strong appeal of Incheon as an international metropolis.
