China's aviation fuel imports are not expected to significantly increase

Asian refiners and traders are now hopes began on May 1 this year, the Shanghai World Expo and Guangzhou Asian Games starting in November to stimulate the import of aviation fuel, thus contributing to Asia’s regional aviation fuel market strength. They want to be like this year’s CAO during the Beijing Olympics in 2008, large-scale import of aviation fuel.

But analysts say the situation in 2008 and now is different, and not a small difference. CAO in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games to buy too much before the convening of aviation fuel, as well as in the months after the stock high. The company was on domestic refiners Sinopec and PetroChina aviation fuel production and inventories it wrong.

Some traders said that while the World Expo and Asian Games due to the stimulation, the Chinese aviation fuel imports in 2010 may increase, but not expected to influence the international market price. An informed trader said the CAO is expected to import jet fuel this year, slightly higher than in 2009, however, because doing well on the domestic stock, while the supply of domestic oil refining business in good condition, so imports are likely to hold with the same period last year stability.
