The mascots of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games -- three brindled brothers and sisters of harbor seals with the names “Vichuon, Barame, and Chumuro” -- put Asia in the spotlight. The 2014 Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee introduced these official mascots to the world at the Songdo ConvensiA held on the 4
th of last month.
Harbor seals used to live on the northern region over 45 degrees north latitude. Endemic to Baekryeong Island located in the region south of 38 degrees north latitude, those harbor seals have established their habitat on the rocks in front of the island. May South and North Korea and Asia as well as the whole world be filled with peace, just like an ordinary day in spring when those harbor seals in Baekryeong Island enjoy the sunlight peacefully.
