'Worst miss ever' costs Qatar place in Asian Games quarter-finals -Video

DEFENDING champions Qatar have crashed out of the Asian Games football tournament - after one of their players missed a stunning open goal.

Teenager Khalfan Fahad capitalised after a blunder by Uzbekistan goalkeeper Timur Juraev put him clean through on goal during the match in China.

But the 18-year-old Al-Rayyan scuffed his shot and the ball bounced off the post, with a follow-up shot being blazed over the bar - leading to it being dubbed the worst miss ever by internet users.

Ivan Nagaev grabbed a winner for Uzbekistan 18 minutes into extra-time, to set up a quarter-final clash with South Korea.

Qatar midfielder Mohamed Sala Elneel said the youngster had to put the astonish miss behind him.

"It's a bad moment for him. He's a young player and he's got to forget this one,"
