Kitajima makes quick amends at Asian Games pool

Japanese super swimmer Kosuke Kitijima didn't take long to make amends for a substandard performance at the Asian Games pool. Just over 12 hours in fact.

Kitajima, the 100- and 200-meter breaststroke gold medalist at each of the last two Olympics, failed to finish in the top three in the 50 meters on Sunday night. While the shorter distance is not Kitajima's best event, he was disappointed with the result and vowed a better performance in the 100 and 200.
That came Monday morning in the 100 qualifiers at Aoti Aquatics Center on the third day of competition at the Asian Games, when he easily won his heat.
