HK cyclist Lee wins Asian Games gold
Hong Kong cyclist Lee Wai-sze has won the SAR's first gold medal at the Asian Games in Guangzhou, which got underway this morning.Lee came first in the women's 500 metres time trial with an Asian record time of 33.945 seconds.
She said afterwards that she had been determined to win, and now hoped to make her mark on the world stage.
Lee added that the veteran Hong Kong cyclist Wong Kam-po had been an inspiration to her, and had taught her a great deal about the sport.
