Sri Lanka cricket team unlikely to participate at Asian Games

The Asian Games has included cricket as a discipline this year and while the cricket playing countries in Asia will send their national teams Sri Lanka has not decided to send one yet.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has been notified about this move around three weeks back by the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Sri Lanka who had asked them to submit the names of the team to apply for accreditation.
Secretary of SLC Nishantha Ranatunga told “Daily Mirror” that their national team will be on a tour during this period and that they will send an ‘A’ team.
“We have told the NOC that if expenses are met for airfare and accommodation SLC will send their second best team,” concluded Ranatunga.
