BOC discusses media coverage of Bahraini participation in Asian Games

Manama, June 21 (BNA) Secretary General of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa conveyed today the greetings of First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and BOC President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to local media representatives. 

He was speaking at a meeting held today at BOC premises to discuss arrangements for media coverage of Bahrain's participation in the 16th Asian Games which will be hosted by Guangzhou, China, next November. Shaikh Ahmed stressed keenness of BOC to provide a favourable background for a distinguished media coverage of Bahrain's participation in the tournament in line with the directives of Shaikh Nasser. He also underlined the committee's tendency to dispatch a media mission led by BOC Media Committee Head Tawfiq salhi and including five editors from daily newspapers and one editor representing English newspapers as well as a four-member team from Bahrain Television. Daily newspapers' sport sections are free to choose their representatives for the media mission, Shaikh Ahmed pointed out underscoring the need for coordination to ensure the mission include specialists in various games in which Bahrain will take part in order to guarantee the best coverage of the event. Present at the meeting were BOC Media Committee Head Tawfiq Salhi and BOC Responsible for Sport Associations Mohammed Al Zayed. A O Q BNA 1558 GMT 2010/06/21
